The DrumRoom++ installation creates a space where the audience can become a virtual percussion member of the Gor Mkhitarian band.
DrumRoom++ engulfs the viewer in 360 degrees of floor-to-ceiling videos of musician Gor Mkhitarian’s band rehearsing “The Last Letter”. The videos are played without sound. At the middle of the space is a drum set with playing sticks and a set of headphones playing the actual music of the “The Last Letter”. Only the person sitting at the drum set can hear the music and as they play the drums, they add the beat to the installation for the rest of the audience.
